Our take on Solid
Solid is a stablecoin savings app with a virtual Visa attached. Your money sits in a self-custody smart wallet, idle savings can earn a variable yield, and the card spends USDC wherever Visa works. Getting the card, topping up and spending in dollars are all free.
The headline is cashback. The free Core tier pays 3% in USDC, which is unusually high for a card with no fee, though it's capped at $50 a month, so the full rate stops after about $1,667 of spending. Prime ($199 a year, or a FUSE lock) and Ultra (a bigger FUSE lock) raise that to 4% and 5% with higher caps, and add bonus rates on things like AI subscriptions.
Non-USD purchases cost 1.5% at every tier, which the cashback more than covers. If your card is issued by Wirex, you can also hold EURC and pay in euros with no FX fee. The main gaps are no physical card and no ATM access.
One of the best free cashback cards right now, as long as you only need a virtual card. Stay on Core unless you spend over $1,700 a month.
