Affiliate and risk disclosure
How we make money
Some links on Crypto Cards Guide may be affiliate or referral links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission or a referral reward at no extra cost to you. This helps keep the site free.
Affiliate relationships never affect our scores, rankings or reviews. Cards we don't earn anything from are listed and scored the same way as cards we do.
Risks to understand
- Volatility. Crypto prices can fall fast. Rewards paid in tokens like CRO, GNO, XPL or NEXO can lose value after you earn them.
- Custody. With a custodial card, the company holds your balance. If it fails, freezes accounts or is hacked, you could lose access to your money.
- Self-custody. With a self-custody card, you're responsible for your keys and approvals. Mistakes usually can't be reversed.
- Borrowing. Cards that let you spend against your crypto charge interest, and falling prices can lead to liquidation of your collateral.
- No deposit insurance. Stablecoin and crypto balances are generally not protected like bank deposits.
- Changing terms. Fees, rewards and availability change often, sometimes with little notice.
- Local rules. Crypto cards may be restricted, taxed or regulated differently where you live.
