Our take on KAST
KAST feels less like a crypto card and more like a dollar account that happens to run on stablecoins. You get US account details for ACH and wires, an EU IBAN for SEPA, and a Visa card that spends from the same balance. For anyone who gets paid by international clients, that combo is the main reason to sign up.
The free Standard tier pays 1.5% back in USD on up to $2,000 of eligible spending a month. That's $30 a month at most, which is decent for a free card. Premium ($1,000 a year) and Private ($10,000 a year) bump that to 2% and 3% plus KAST Points, but you'd need to spend a lot for the maths to work. At 2%, Premium needs roughly $50,000 a year in spending just to cover its fee with cashback alone, before counting any perks.
Spending outside USD costs 0.5% to 1.75% depending on where you live, plus $0.10 on non-USD purchases under $25. That's mid-range for a crypto card, and the 1.5% cashback covers most of it. KAST also waives its FX fee on purchases in 16 Latin American currencies, from the Mexican peso to the Brazilian real, until 31 December 2027, which makes it one of the cheaper cards in that region. ATM withdrawals cost $3 plus 2%, with up to $500 per withdrawal.
The Reserve account is the other headline: 8% to 12% in rewards on balances depending on tier, with KAST stating the offer ends 1 July 2027. KAST is clear these are rewards, not bank interest, so treat them as a promotion that can change.
Great as a stablecoin bank account with a card, especially if you earn in USD. Mid-priced for spending abroad, and a standout in Latin America while the 0% FX offer runs.
