Our take on Crypto.com Visa Card

For many people the Crypto.com card was their first crypto card, and the app is still one of the easiest ways to buy crypto and spend it. You top up from your app balance or your fiat wallet, tap the card, and that's it.

Rewards are where it gets complicated. Crypto.com now ties card rewards to its Level Up program. You can get up to 4.5% back in CRO on prepaid cards, and the US credit card offers up to 6%, but only on higher tiers. Those tiers need a subscription starting at $4.99 a month or a 12-month CRO lockup. So the real question is whether your spending earns more than the subscription costs, or whether you're comfortable locking a single token for a year.

Rewards are paid in CRO. If CRO drops, so does the value of what you earned. Some people convert rewards to stablecoins right away to avoid that.

Fees and perks differ a lot by region. Crypto.com says the prepaid card has no foreign transaction fees in the US, Canada and the EEA, but also warns that fees may apply on some tiers or in some places. Always check the fee page inside the app for your country before you rely on it abroad.

Convenient if you already use Crypto.com, and rewarding if a Level Up plan makes sense for your spending. Do the subscription maths first, and remember it's custodial.
